FAQ:
Q: How do I know that I'm subscribed?
A: A confirmation message will be sent immediately from webmaster@spencerportjuniorbaseball.com. It's a good idea to "whitelist" spencerportjuniorbaseball.com if you have a spam filter. If you don't get the confirmation within 5 minutes, something is wrong. Check your spam filter. Check the e-mail address. Make sure that YOU can send e-mail to that address. If you can't send to yourself, we can't either!
Q: What does it cost?
A: We send it free, but as they say on American Idol, "standard text messaging rates apply". So if you get this as regular e-mail, it's probably free. If you get it on your cell phone and your carrier charges ten cents to receive a text message, it'll cost you ten cents.
Q: Can I send to Regular E-Mail?
A: Although the messages are formatted so that they'll "fit" on a phone or text pager, they'll work just fine for "regular" e-mail too. So go ahead and sign up your roadrunner, frontiernet, work, etc., e-mail addresses too. Add all of your accounts if you want, but don't add somebody else without their knowledge/consent.
Q: Can I test it?
A: Sure. Just unsubscribe and then subscribe again. That'll re-add you to the list, without duplicating, and will immediately send a "confirmation" from the server.
Q: Who can send messages?
A: Right now just Dave Kroll and the webmaster.
Q: Are message sent often?
A: No.
Q: Will this thing call my cell phone and talk to me?
A: No. Only text messages are sent to e-mail accounts, which could be to a "regular" e-mail account, a text pager, or cell phone with messaging capability.
Q: I have a cell phone but don't know my e-mail address. Can I do this?
A: Try sending an e-mail to yourself (make it short) using an address format from the chart listed above. If it works, you're ok. But check with your provider to see if you'll be charged. Sometimes it's free with the right plan, but often you can get them "ala-carte" very reasonably, perhaps 10-25 cents per message.
